Boom Box 3
Overview
The Boom Box 3 is Seismic Source’s next-generation seismic blasting system designed for both conventional and autonomous acquisition operations. Built for rugged field environments, the Boom Box 3 combines GPS synchronized timing, integrated Wi-Fi communication, advanced uphole recording, and flexible operating modes into a lightweight and compact blasting platform.
The system supports autonomous shooting without radios or repeaters, allowing crews to operate efficiently in thick vegetation, mountainous terrain, or remote areas with poor communications. GPS time-slot synchronization prevents overlapping shots while allowing multiple shooters to operate independently across the same spread.
Boom Box 3 supports both legacy radio-based acquisition systems and modern continuously recording nodal systems. Integrated Wi-Fi allows setup, QC, shot review, and data offload directly from a tablet, laptop, or cellphone. Precise shot timing, GPS positions, uphole information, and quality control data are stored internally for later download and reporting.
