Streamer
Overview
The SSC Land Streamer is designed for high-speed, high-resolution seismic acquisition. It uses a series of geophones mounted on metal sleds and tied to strong polyester webbing, with outriggers on each sled to help keep the sensors vertical during field operation.
A typical system includes a Land Streamer, DAQlink seismograph, and accelerated weight drop source. The Land Streamer connects behind the source, and the source connects behind the truck, creating a fast land acquisition system that requires less equipment and less field effort than traditional layouts.
Like marine streamers, land streamers can be deployed in 2D or 3D configurations. They can be used with vertical or shear wave sensors and with sources such as accelerated weight drops or Vibroseis. The system is especially well suited for rapid MASW acquisition.

Benefits
- The Land Streamer reduces setup time and field effort, allowing crews to move quickly between source points and acquire more data in less time.
- Streamer-style acquisition requires less equipment and less manual layout than conventional planted geophone spreads.
- The system is especially suitable for rapid MASW acquisition where fast movement and consistent receiver spacing are important.
- Land Streamers can be used in 2D or 3D configurations and can support vertical or shear wave acquisition.
- Fixed channel spacing and sled-mounted geophones help crews maintain a consistent receiver layout during production.
- The Land Streamer can be used with DAQlink systems and Seismic Source source control electronics for flexible acquisition workflows.
