Vibrator Simulator 10
Vibrator electronics testing and training for servo-hydraulic vibrator systems.
Vibrator Simulator 10
Overview
The Vibrator Simulator 10, or VS10, simulates an actual servo-hydraulic vibrator for testing vibroseis control electronics and training seismic personnel.
The VS10 is useful for verifying vibrator electronics and vibrator wiring before field deployment. It helps crews test control systems, confirm wiring operation, and train operators without needing to use a full vibrator truck.
The system simulates key vibrator components including a three-stage hydraulic system, torque motor, pilot stage, main stage, valve LVDT, reaction mass LVDT, accelerometer outputs, earth resonance notch switching, and the four-way valve lift system.

Benefits
- The VS10 allows crews to verify vibrator electronics and wiring before field production, reducing troubleshooting time on active jobs.
- Operators and technicians can learn servo-hydraulic vibrator operation and control electronics behavior without tying up field equipment.
- Bar graphs, polarity switches, control switches, and lift status indicators make it easier to diagnose control and wiring issues.
- The VS10 can be used for testing and training with both old vibrators and newer vibrator systems.
- Testing electronics in a simulator helps confirm proper operation before connecting to full hydraulic vibrator equipment.
- Simulated LVDT, accelerometer, torque motor, and lift system signals help verify vibroseis control electronics under realistic conditions.
